1540 Laser
A non-ablative fractional laser that resurfaces skin to improve texture, scars (including acne scars), stretch marks, and fine lines. The 1540 stimulates collagen with little to no downtime.
What It Is
The Fractional 1540 Laser is a non-ablative resurfacing treatment that targets specific zones of your skin while leaving surrounding tissue untouched, allowing for faster healing and dramatic results. The 1540 wavelength penetrates deep into the dermis, stimulating collagen and elastin production while addressing concerns like fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, surgical scars, stretch marks, melasma, and uneven texture. Benefits include smoother, firmer skin, faded scars, improved tone, and a more youthful overall appearance. Because the 1540 is non-ablative, recovery is significantly easier than ablative laser treatments while still delivering meaningful results.
How It Works
Your provider will apply numbing cream for 30–45 minutes prior to treatment. Once the area is numb, the laser handpiece is passed over your skin, delivering precise micro-columns of energy. You'll feel warmth and a prickling sensation during treatment. Sessions take 20–45 minutes depending on the area. Expect redness, mild swelling, and a sandpaper-like texture for 2–4 days. Some clients experience small dark spots (microcrusts) where the laser has targeted pigmented areas, these flake off naturally within a week. Clients may need 3–5 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart for optimal results, with annual maintenance treatments to sustain benefits.
Ideal Candidate
The 1540 is ideal for adults wanting to improve fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, surgical scars, stretch marks, melasma, sun damage, or overall texture concerns. Because it's non-ablative, the 1540 is safer for a wider range of skin tones than ablative resurfacing lasers and offers significantly less downtime. It's not recommended during pregnancy, breastfeeding, with active skin infections or cold sores, on Accutane within 6 months, or for clients with very dark skin tones (we may recommend safer alternatives). We'll discuss your skin during consultation.
Aftercare & Recovery
Apply gentle, hydrating skincare and avoid harsh products for 5–7 days. Stay out of the sun and wear SPF 30+ daily, your skin will be highly sun-sensitive. Don't pick at micro-crusts; let them shed naturally. Avoid strenuous exercise, hot tubs, and saunas for 48 hours. Sleep with your head slightly elevated the first night. Most clients can return to work and wear mineral makeup within 2–3 days, with full recovery in about a week. Stay hydrated to support the healing process.
