Kybella Injections

What You Need to Know About

Kybella Injections

There are countless exercise programs on the market designed to shape virtually every imaginable part of the human body. The ads make lofty claims:

“Your best butt in 90 days.”
“Shrink your tummy.”“Tone your arms.”

But the truth is that, for some parts of the body, there’s not a way to naturally tone it. The double chin is the biggest culprit. Fortunately, Kybella injections can help.

What is Kybella?

Kybella is the only FDA-approved injection specifically designed to eliminate excess fat beneath the chin. It’s made with a synthetic replica of deoxycholic acid: a naturally occuring bile found in the body which aids in fat absorption.

When the Kybella is injected into the targeted area, it destroys the fat cells, rendering them unable to store fat any longer. Then, over a period of a few weeks post injection, the acid dissolves the fat cells entirely, leaving your skin smooth, tight, and most importantly, less.

Who is Kybella For?

Kybella is for anyone with a moderate to excess amount of fat under their chin. Although there are patients and clinics which have tried Kybella for fat reduction on other parts of the body (legs, tummy, arms), the treatment has not been tested and the FDA has not approved the injection for those uses.

If you have or are planning to undergo facial surgery, have trouble swallowing, or are pregnant and/or nursing, Kybella may not be for you.

How Much does Kybella Cost?

Kybellais $600 per vial and it typically takes 2 vials to start and then 1-2 follow up treatments that are usually just 1vial. It is worth taking into consideration that the cost of a Kybella treatment includes the expertise of your practitioner, as well as the unbeatable convenience of a non-invasive treatment and the fact that you can avoid surgery.

Kybella, like many non-invasive procedures, requires a number of sessions, each spaced several weeks apart to give the drug the chance to work properly. How many separate sessions you need will depend on the size of the area you’re looking to treat.

On average, most patients have 4-6 Kybella sessions, and the treatments in those sessions run between $600-$1,800 each.

Is Kybella Right for Me?

The good news is that Kybella is right for most people looking to feel beautiful in their skin. The most common complaint from Kybella patients and the reason they move forward with treatment is that they are unhappy with how their profile looks. Our face is our calling card and first impression for the people we meet, so it’s only natural that we want it to look as beautiful as we want to feel. Don’t let a double chin be what holds you back.
