What is Semaglutide

(Ozempic)

Semaglutide (Ozempic) is a long-acting analog of a naturally occurring hormone in the body (GLP-1) and was FDA approved in 2021 for the treatment of obesity and well as readily prescribed for the treatment of diabetes since 2017. It is now becoming the leading drug in the weight loss industry due to its ground breaking results.

What is GLP-1?

Glucagon-like peptide-1 (or GLP-1) is a naturally occurring hormone in the body that is secreted in the gut and targets multiple receptors throughout the body related to appetite and hunger.

Who is a candidate for Semaglutide?

The specific protocol will be discussed during your consultation. However, the general construct includes a progressively increasing dosage of a once-a-week subcutaneous injection.

The length of treatment depends on the amount of weight you desire to lose.
